Sherry White, Homeopath

I am a professional Homeopathic practitioner who uses Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT)with my patients where appropriate. I believe that the two therapies can work beautifully together to remove blocks to healing, including physical and emotional toxins. As I believe the people I work with will attest, the potentials for healing are profound.

Homeopathy and Emotional Freedom Techniques

Homeopathy and EFT (a meridian energy therapy) both work on the same principle of treating a person's illness in the context of their unique and individual experience of the symptoms. The aim is to attempt to identify the core or specific issue that appears to be the cause of the emotional or physical disruption to health. With this information a 'like for like' - a homeopathic remedy - may found which when given may trigger the body to rebalance itself and bring about healing. Using EFT a similar triggering can be set off using a form of words as a focus while 'tapping' specific 'acu-points' on the skin surface of the body.

In my experience EFT, like homeopathy, offers another way for my patients to experience that the specific nature of their suffering can be understood. It allows their unique strengths, positive qualities and potential to surface and be recognised by us both.

An additional part of the attraction of using EFT in my homeopathic practice is that I can teach my patients to tap for themselves easily at home – giving them a tool to use as an adjunct to current homeopathic treatment or as part of the self management of pain, frights or panics in acute situations where a homeopathic remedy or any other medicine is not available.

What is emotional freedom?

Samuel Hahneman, (link) the founder of Homeopathy tells us that the indications for improvement in our patients are “greater ease, composure, mental freedom, higher spirits, returning naturalness”.

Gary Craig, the founder of EFT, (link) maintains that the less anger, guilt, grief, pain we have then the more our naturally joyous nature emerges, along with the spiritual qualities of forgiveness, peace, and love: this is what's doing the healing.

The only difference truly is that Hahneman speaks to us from the early 19th century and Craig nearly two hundred years later.
